Apparently these folks can't read the work Porsche on the trunk?
Consider the source and just be glad you have a great ride!

Josh, you need to make some lemonade from those lemons, my friend!
That's part of the charm and fun with owning our cars...a lot of people don't know what they are. This is a good thing, in my book.
Just smile, and say, "No, it is a Porsche. Have a great day. Thanks".

Josh, I can bet ya the Firebird owner does not have people thinking he owns a Porsche!
PL, why are you eating in a diner? You own Apple stock! Plus you are a healthy eater.

Josh, one more bit of advice. If a hot chick ever says this "firebird stuff" to you, look at her, make good eye contact, and say with a straight face, " No, it is a Porsche. Would you like to go for a spin someday......topless!" And then see how she responds.

wow, thats never happened to me but i cant believe people could mistake a corvette or firebird or even a miata for a boxster. Porsche has such a distinct look. I like american muscle but it would piss me off if someone asked me if i drove a firebird lol just because its so off.
Although dont worry about it the people who mistake that dont know a car from a ship so its nothing that should bother you.

Cant blame people really. I've had my boxster since August and I've seen maybe 2 or 3 on the road since then. Boxsters are rare sights on the road. Anyone who mistakes a Firebird for a boxster obviously doesn't know much about cars , period. I wouldnt worry about it. Just relax and know you are driving one nice piece of auto.

Too bad the trunk doesn't have a Porsche badge on it.

Most do have the Writing on it, you know, Boxster and all on the back trunk and the Porsche badge on the front.
How easy can this be?

I had a guy say, "Sweet Lotus". That isn't an insult though.

Never had someone ask if my car was anything along the lines of a Toyota Spyder or Firebird, but since I also run a naked rear I have been asked if my car is a 911 a few times.

I am amazed at how many similar incidents I've had. Old couple at Sam's thought it "cute." That sorta hurt. But they were parking out in no man's land like I was, so they probably love their Buick a lot. Maybe they remember their Stutz Bearcat!
Babe at gas station driving a huge Titan in Wilmington, NC . I got the "what is that?" line followed by a knowing nod when I told her. She "hoped to see me around." Yeah, I let her get away without getting her number thinking I really might see her at another gas station. Mrs Sixter woulda been p*ssed anyway. :ah:
And teenagers, mostly boys, give me a lot of thumbs up and "how fast will it go?" No idea if they know what it is. Got a thumbs up over the shoulder from one yesterday as they passed me in the passing lane in a hot looking Toyota PU.

Yesterday my wife told me her boss had been on the way to work and saw a nice sports car and said, "hey, nice car" then she saw the driver and said "hey, nice looking guy"...then she said "oh, that's Susan's husband!"...that made my day.
