Track day at Firebird, Autocross, and Porsche Air Compressor

Hi folks, just had a fun weekend - track day at Firebird on Saturday with Pro Autosports, and an autocross on Sunday with AZ Solo in my 2007 Boxster S. While both the events went really well and the car performed perfectly (no brake problems at all on the track, and won the street tire class at the autocross), my little Porsche air compressor that comes with the care didn't fair as well.. I lent it to a friend to put some air into his tires, and he accidentally rolled over it!

I know a few of you guys have gutted your cars and/or only use them for the track, so I was hoping one of you might have the original Porsche air compressor I could buy to replace my destroyed one (the car is leased, so I need to replace it with a factory one). I've contacted a few junkyards, but no luck so far. Thanks for any leads you guys might have! Also, do the 997's use the same air compressor as well, if so I can extend my search even further.

Here are the results for the Sunday autocross, this mid-engine platform really is brilliant.

Thanks,

Emmanuel

Thanks.. yeah, he's going to pay for it, but I priced it from Porsche and they want $289 for a new one. OUCH! His mistake shouldn't cost him *that* much money

Surprised the Saturn Sky did as well as it did in the stock class. Always figured the steering and chassis setup on that and its sister car was pretty soft. It was the redline model tho, maybe they beef them up quite a bit..

I bought a fantastic air compressor. It is compact, doesn't weigh much, and I carry it daily with my other 'essentials'. I paid about $70 for it, and many folks have commented on how much they like it and are interested in it for themselves. It is surprisingly powerful. I know you mentioned wanting the Porsche one, but if this will do for you, then bueno!

he said his car is a lease, so he needs to give them back the one that came with the car.

Hehe thanks anyhow, it's the thought that counts Where did you get that little compressor from? Once I find a new Porsche one, I'm probably going to never lend it out again, or even use it myself, unless it's an absolute emergency.. so I might pick up one of these lil suckers you posted about. Where did you get it from?

Thanks!

I got it at a Truck Show, of all places, so I got a little savings. I bet their web site will steer you to a dealer. I like it so much I thought about selling them on the side. BTW - I'm not 'into trucks'. I like performance driving, not four wheelin'. I looked around for you to try and find the Porsche one, hoping that maybe it was a ViAir in a P bag or some cool solution like that. No luck. All I found were AC compressors. Doh!
