My 2.5L box has been sitting for a couple days. I started it up today and noticed white smoke. Let it run for maybe 3 minutes and still white smoke coming from the tailpipe. There was some condensation on the pipe as well. Its not a whole lot of smoke, but its noticibly coming out. No CEL or any of that. I drove it from one parking spot to the next and it drives fine. Doesn't seem to have any loss of power, but I haven't goosed it or anything. Does it sound like my engine just died??

Take it you for a nice drive and see if the smoke leaves after warm up. If not, proceed to your local mechanic.

The white smoke on startup is common especially after sitting for awhile. Although 3 minutes of white smoke is alot.

I drove it around the parking garage and it BARELY smokes. I took it outside into the sunlight and you can BARELY see the smoke. It is up to temp, but still smoking none-the less. I checked the fluid levels and they are all good. I turned the car off and sat and watched the tailpipe for about a minute or two and it continued to dispense white smoke, but once again, not much at all. Am I just over concerned or is this a problem? I'm REALY not wanting to buy a new engine for this thing!!!

Drove it for about 20 minutes and it seems to have resolved. Went ahead and took it to my local Porsche shop and they explained it was no big deal and for it to smoke awhile is actually common (which shocked me). None-the less...crisis over...for now lol

Good news.

Usually white smoke is innocent, unless there is a ton of it and it doesn't resolve after warm up.

Other than a puff of smoke at start up, that is the first i've dealt with it. I keep hearing all these horror stories on here about engines dying and what not and I was definitely not feelin' none too good at the time lol Oh well...lesson learned and not a moment too soon to be done with that haha
