Boxster (and Cayman, too) in C&D Top 10

Latest issue of Car & Driver includes the Boxster/Cayman in the top 10 cars of the year. Not much of a write-up but it gets to the point and only has good things to say. And it was the only Porsche in the top 10.

I read somewhere on Yahoo news yesterday that the Box was one of the slowest selling cars this year. It may be a matter of time before it gets phased out.

Porsche's volumes are very low in general. As long as they're still selling for a profit, they'll keep building them.

lol debbie downer.

Yes Boxster sales were down and sales volume is never very high with all Porsches. But the key metric the yahoo article didn't mention is the Inventory Level.

Porsche has around a 42 day supply (meaning it takes an average of 42 days to sell the vehicle.) Compare that to say a Mitsubishi Eclipse (which wasn't mentioned in the article as a slow seller). The Eclipse's sales volume is more than double the Boxster's volume this year. But the Eclipse has a 127 day supply.

Which car would you rather have on your lot - one that sells in a month and a half, or one that takes over 4 months to sell?
