First Boxster

Well the TT2 is going tomorrow, and i should be picking my Boxster up next Saturday.

To say i can not wait is an under estimation.

What if anything should i be looking for upon collection?

Get a PPI. Although it sounds like it may be to late?
Get a Carfax
Things you can check (leaving out the obvious and the stuff a dealer should check out):

Make sure there are 2 keys and all original manuals
Get historical paperwork
Try all gizmos and gadgets (specially roof deployment, AC, electric windows, heated seats, defroster, elect mirrors, pull on headlight switch ... twice, lock of center console, lock of glove box)
Are the wind deflector and roll bar inserts there?
Is the little tool kit complete behind spare wheel
Try all buttons on both key pads
Drive parallel to a wall to hear any weird noises (this is a great trick!)
Accelerate one wheel on grass, brake with one wheel on grass
Brake and let go of steering wheel...
...
Aesthetically: Check rim edges, windshield, roof, inner headlight lenses, rear window, leather seats, look under edges of car all around, callipers still nice?, wheel bolts rusty? (could be sign of winter driving...you don't want that)
...
I'm sure I'm forgettting something...

congradulations and welcome to the forum!

I picked up my Boxster a few months ago and couldn't be happier. No problems at all. Good luck.

I have gone for a very basic standard Boxster in arctic silver. Its only 6 months old and has 3000 miles on the clock.

I will be doing the usual body checks, but wondered if there was anything else to look for.

Thanks for the replys i will get some photos posted next week all being well.

You didn't like the TT? What made it so bad?

I found the clutch spongey, and the throttle responce to sharp. Both these things together made for a very bouncey drive. Add to this the quattro drive train slop and a down shift was virtually impossible with out hearing a clonk!

Its a shame because it looked good, sounded nice, handeled well and the cabin was ace! BUT ultimately not for me. Roll on the boxster! Which while not as nice on the inside, drives better and looks more classey.
