I've never run up against an R32 on the street, but there was one at a local auto-x last year and he was posting some impressive times. Those are very capable little cars. On a side note I bumped into a WS6 trans am the other day on the street. He wasn't ready so I jumped out about 8-10 cars ahead but he reeled me in pretty fast after 100mph.
when we were at the autoX, there was a guy there w a blue one, man that thing was fast, we were all amazed at the speeds he was carrying trough the corners.
definitely mad props to VW.
then again, one of my fav cars out there is a MK1 GTI

DJ, NickCats and I consistently ran into a heavily modded R32 and that thing was crazy fast! I think he mentioned he was pushing 350 HP! He was fast but it was pretty obvious he was still learning how to drive it. I gurantee that when he gets better he will be extremely competitive if not kickin' everyone's butt...
