now dont get me wrong -- i LOVE my 2000 S, but this car is BEAUTIFUL! No, i don't like the interior that much, but the front clip is really pretty. Nice evolution, without going too far away from what makes the box so great.

0-100km/h in 5.5s for the S...is it just me or does that mean that despite another 20-30 hp it's still not any faster than the current vehicle?

Porsche's times for the current S from 0-100Km/h is 5.7...so it is a little bit faster. 20hp is not going to do much for acceleration. It's the bump in torque that is helping acceleration. Same reason why the current S will still outrun the new Base with 240hp even though the hp gap is getting smaller.

The extra 20hp will show in a slightly higher top speed, all else being equal.

If Porsche stays with it's conservative estimates, then I would guess the new S is a 5.0 to 5.2 seconds 0-60mph car. 1/4 mile I would guess around 13.6 @ 103mph. Not too shabby (magazines have been running 5.2 to 5.4 seconds 0-60 and 13.8 @ 102 for the current S).
