Yeah Grizz, I am with you. This place is a means of entertainment while at work for me too. I also appreciate that members are of all ages, all economic states, and all parts of the world. That way, when I do come on, someone doesn't say the exact same thing I was going to say!

On that note, CFOs, I doubt many boxster owners consider themsleves the elite. I don't notice too much of that here. If we were a ferrari forum, I would understand the back patting.

Everytime I see the letter "S" I get jelous though.

Naa dude, c'mon. Over what? A traffic court case? Who cares? One of the problems with writing, I guess, is that you can't read body language or hear tone of voice. Check this out. This is how human communication breaks down percentage-wise:

"7 percent verbal (words)

38 percent vocal (volume, pitch, rhythm, etc)

55 percent body movements (mostly facial expressions
)"

This applies to a verbal conversation, but I have no reason to believe that a written conversation is much different. If that's true, it means that by writing to one another, we're probably only receiving about 7 percent of the message the other is trying to convey. If we were in a bar somewhere, and you were paying attention to me instead of that little hottie in the low rise jeans, you would be able to "read" much more of my communication and realize that I was just making a point in a friendly argument.

On this end, that exchange was no more serious than I'm an Eagles fan and your Raiders suck.

TriGem2k 11-14-2007 03:55 PM

Agreed, tone of voice and body language play a big part.

For you Griz ( no malice intended :D ) :

Heh, so I see another person has learned the fact that this forum is not-so-nice if you:

1. Complain about a ticket.
2. Complain about the environment.
3. Disagree with the moderators.
4. Complain about your car in any way.

It's made me rather reluctant to participate in any way other than a purely technical discussion.

Nick, no way! Grizzly only likes chocolate frosted or cinnamon & sugar. :)

Grizzly 11-14-2007 06:32 PM

Boston Cream, baby!!!!

EE3racing 11-14-2007 06:46 PM

Wow!!

Where the hell is Dr. Phil? (probably on the Ferrari BB , I'll bet he kept one) This thread rules. This is how I felt when I bailed, frankly, the place seems a lot cooler now and everyone saying their peace is cathartic, nothing bad there.

Oh BTW, without causing the equivalent of a BB Katrina, where's Mr. "happy motoring" America's favorite vehicle megalomaniac?

Grizzly 11-14-2007 06:52 PM

Gone, baby. Poof. Like Keyser Soze

djomlas 11-14-2007 07:06 PM

happy motoring

CJ_Boxster 11-14-2007 09:14 PM

your all on my ignore list now!!!! Happy motoring! :) lol

"Regrettably"? I know your back's ahurtin' man but I fear you may need to seek out professional help at a whole 'nother level, Grizz. "Regrettably"?!? That's just crazy talk! :D (<---body language)

Hey Bogg, I don't know what this is about cause I didn't read all the threads but your posts are good stuff. So stick around. If it's about getting a thread locked..... I don't trust anyone unless they had a few threads locked up.... LOL

F**k rules !! Scr*w the establishment.... The Man's always trying to oppress us... [raises the Jolly Roger]

If your not pushing the envelope, on the edge, you're wasting space.

Concerning technology break through I read somewhere in Excellence that Dr. Porsche once said "if you have not failed you have not gone far enough", I'm sure I had threads locked for standing up to the guy who is apparently gone now.

The last post I remember reading of his was this regarding his gambling expertise and all the money he made in Vegas. It seemed like he wanted us to believe he was the inspiration for James Bond or something. Hi I'm Jim, I'm richer than you, smarter than you and have cooler toys than you, oh and I stole "happy motoring" from Esso for my own home use.

Oh, that was early on. You missed some good ones.

I've been the cause of some thread lockage too, but I deserved it. :o

CJ_Boxster 11-15-2007 07:21 AM

Yeah i remember that thread, the weird thing about that was that a day before he was arguing with half the forum and then afterwards that "Feel Good Thread" about winning buttloads of money in Las Vegas and at the same time acting as if he was no big deal cause he doesnt need it lol

Well, I don't know about that Grizz, the threshold for said lockage was always quite low, especially if you contrast it against what goes on at other BB's.
