03/04 Porsche Sport Exhaust Question

Im thinking of getting an 03 PSE on my 01 S. Anyone done this or know how the install is? is it easy to DIY? I have done everything myself on my car minus painting stuff so im ok with getting my hands dirty. For those who have it what are your thoughts on sound and power. Im more interested in sound. I like how the PSE sounds on the 996.

thanx

Some of the local guys have it, and put it in themselves. It does not sound as good as the 996 version. Go to some local events and you can hear it for yourself.

I have a PSE on my 01. The sound for my taste is just perfect, not loud, no drone. I have mine without the bypass switch (always "ON" by default). There is a video/sound clip on youtube (search for PSE). I would characterize the sound to be close/tad louder than a stock 996. I did the install myself, it took me about 2 hours for the install. No significant power increase.

This is the link you're refering to - this thing came out straight from Hell.
Best sound I've heard, and the fact you can also have it on Normal mode for cruises, is amazing.

Not sure what's the cost of the full mod (PSE + bypass pipes), but it's definitely worth it!

Yea I admit it doesnt sound as good as the 996 PSE but it sounds porsche-ish. The other exhaust sound either too smooth like BMW's or to rough like any other car with an exhaust on it. the one in link below is not that one im looking at. Im looking at the one for 03 which has different tips. Thanx for your imput guys.

How are you going to get the 03 exhaust to fit on an 01?
