dude if u wanna get a GTO go and get it, dont worry about what the guys on this forum say- its ur money and its gonna be ur car. obviously the guys on this forum are gonna be against a GTO, its a boxster forum...everyone thinks the best thing out there is the thing they drive. on on some GTo forums and see what the guys there say...
but if u decide u dont want a GTO (which isnt that bad, i was impessed when i drove it) try an sti or a evo... a muscle car or maybe a supra...

good luck with selling the boxster as well :-)

Can we say easily led and influenced? Never make a personal decision predicated on the advice of relative strangers, much less members of a forum dedicated to one brand/model of car. Have the backbone to research, test drive, and feel good about yourself in your own damn skin without worrying about what others think so much. Sure if you don't know why own a Porsche vs. a Pontiac then I guess you need to get the core of your beliefs. For me it is much more than sheetmetal and 0-60 times. I say this with the utmost respect: I think that $ would be better spent figuring out who you are as a person vs. what some other car/paint job/engine/ET/0-60 time will do for your fragile ego.

All the best.

I have had two V8 Miata conversions and both were awesome cars with almost the driveability of a stock Miata. I sold one for $19,000 and one for $20,000. If you want a street machine that few cars can touch and a car that will take you through the mountains I would go to the miata.net and check-out the VR forums.

No need to get personal here. We are only taking about cars.

We all know any car will be faster with money to mod it or an engine swap. But it seems like he doesnt want that. He wants a new cheap car thats fast, the GTO. So whatever, get the 400HP model, then supercharge it.
