door mirror heater continuesly on. What now?

Hey everyone. Who can help me?

A week ago the light of the button for the door mirror heaters in my 97 boxster started to constantly light up. Pressing it on both sides did not change anything. It is still on. Also, the door mirror heaters were on all the time. I noticed this, because they were hot on the mirror all the time. Last night the battery drained. I kind of expected this. I jump started and ran the car for serveral hours to recharge the battery. I also diconnected the heater elements in the door mirrors, by following the procedure to get the mirrors out and in. Now the light is still on and the mirrors are cold. Well, my guess is that I might have to replace the button in the center console for the heaters.

What do you guys think?

best regards.
Chris

I think the button is the first and most obvious thing to check. It shouldn't be terribly expensive to replace.

Chris, give Suncost Porsche a call www.sunsetporsche.com. They will know the part and sell at a good price.
