NEW BOXSTER. Which headlight will it be? Vote here!

We've seen many spy shots and photoshop jobs of the new 2005 boxster. The official photos have not been released.

In other threads there has been a little controversy over which headlight will actually be on the new 987.

Below are two good samples of the two options.

A: Silver car. Looks like a spy shot.
B: Yellow car. Carrera GT-like headlights.

Is it A (silver) or B (yellow)?

If you can't tell the different... look harder. They are totally different.

They BETTER be like the silver car. The yellow car's headlights are beyond fugly and looks ridiculous on the Boxster. LOL!

But I'm a fan of the current "fried egg" lights myself.

The yellow cars lights were cropped from a carrera GT. The lights cover up where the front trunk lifts up from the cars body.

Its funny actually. You'd think that if Toyota is going to rip of elements from the Boxster... they'd do a better job.

Now this is more like it. From all the photos I've seen these look like the real thing. Nice.

Anyone who knows if the 2003 or 2004 halogen headlights will fit 2000 w/o modifications? I'm thinking about getting these clear ones to replace my 2000 halogen units with the orange colors on the bottoms. Thanks,

Most everything is interchangeable, except for the fried egg which will need a different fender and bumper.

The newer 996 is the fried egg lights. Like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2487444077&category=10156#ebayphotohosting

as stated above my micky...

again to change to that shape of light you have to change the bumper, both side panels, the lights, and the lights are deeper so the the back panel needs to go futher back and the wiring needs to be changed. I was going to do this but it would de-value the boxster.. looks great tho
