225 x 4 tires

I have an opportunity to purchase some R compound tires but I can only get 4 225's. Any issues with 225's all around? This would be primarily for autox.

Not worth the trouble... 245's all around yes.. 225s in the rear are "too small" imho.

Garage
Pluses:
1 light weight. Lower cost.
2 you can rotate front/rear for longer life.
3 if they are low profile your effective gear ratio will be lower and your car will also have a lower CG.

Minuses:
1 Smaller contact patch, less maximum available dry traction.
2 Car will tend to oversteer. (can be dialed out with adjustable sway bars)

If you often Auto-X in the rain (Seattle) this might be the setup for you providing these are good wet traction tires. You didn't mention brand or size. On dry days you are going to give up a little to the guys with more rubber on the road. Let us know what you decide.

I passed on the deal. I could have gotten a great price by getting all tires the same size but it doesn't sound like its really worth it.
Thanks.
