Got my BEST 0-60 time!!!

I'm not necessarily questioning you or your results and I also won't claim to be any sort of drag expert (I've only attempted 0 to 60 runs 4 or 5 times - not really my thing and my clutch loves me for it ), here are a couple of my results (I've never even looked at the data close enough to consider how/where to improve):





Keep in mind that I have an 'S' and these runs were done with 2 people in the car (each weighing about 175 - 180) and 3/4 of a tank of gas. The weight was determined from a DOT approved scale and RPM calibration was also done.

That said, 5.9 is impressive. My website has MT magazine recording their best time as 6.0.

The one question I have is about your weight. I have the base weight of the 2.5L being 2822 lbs. You have your calibrated weight as 2950. Do you only weigh 128 lbs? Just curious. If not you may need to adjust that a bit - don't know how that will impact your times.

Ah, but was it put on a scale (with the driver in it)? All the fluids and options add up (ex. gas weighs ~6 lbs. per gallon). You really need to weigh the car for accurate results. Look at the weight of my car as an example. If we went by that table, my car should be over 250 lbs. lighter. While I wish that were the case, the fact is that it's not.

In the tables I posted above, you'll see that the weight of my car is 3465. That weight includes me, the passenger, and ~3/4 tank of gas. Without me, my car weighs 3,110 (includes ~3/4 tank of gas). With me, the car is 3,290.

If you look at the table you linked to, the curb weight for a 2000 Boxster S is 2855.

For accurate results, all weight must be accounted for.

What type of place would I go to see how much my Boxster weights?

Should I go to one of the local semi-truck weight in spots and slide the guy some $ if you know what I mean?

Well, you could try that I suppose.

Most race tracks also have scales. In my case, I happen to have a friend that builds firetrucks and his company has a DOT scale that we used. If I didn't have that option I would've used the scales at the track.

Acceleration numbers from the G-Tech aren't dependent on the weight logged. You can enter 10 pounds and it will still report the same acceleration numbers.
