Thanks for the replies. I had a 2006 Boxster S, and the regular shift linkage was to my liking and have tested a short shift linkage which benefits from a shorter throw, but did not like the feel. I have had several S2000's (which is a great shifter, can be a bit notchy), and I currently drive a 2007 BMW 335i with a 6 speed shift, and I prefer the very solid/fluid feel of the Boxster S regular shift (hard to believe it's a cable shifter). Besides, if I change my mind, this is one item that does not cost an arm and a leg to switch out later.
