DSP removal

My 2000 Boxster came with the usual CDR 220 radio, but with a DSP panel below it. I would like to remove the DSP panel. Just unplugging the wires does not work - no sound comes out of the radio. I have also looked at the amp in the front trunk, but unplugging wires from there leads to the same result - no sounds. Any ideas?

I don't use it and I would rather use the dash space for other things like my Traqmate display and Chasecam recorder.

Remove it but leave it connected. Then stick the control unit behind the area where it is mounted. There is plenty room back there.

You have a digital amp and I gues it will not work without the control unit connected. The other alternative is to put in the analog amp, then see if someone wants your DSP control unit and digital amp.

That's the solution I'm leaning towards. I have had it tucked into the dash for a little while. I was just wondering how to completely remove it. I didn't think that the amp was different and dependent on the control. That makes sense though. Thanks.
