Oil change interval if I DON'T store my car in the winter?

Hi folks,

we have had our S since October of 2005. it had 27, 300 miles when we bought it, and the dealer did the 30k service when we bought it.

we now have 36, 300 miles on it 21 months later. Although it does get cold here in the winter, we still drive the car when there is no salt or crud on the streets.

looking through the maintenance manual, I can't find anything regarding the oil change by time, only mileage, 15k miles.

I have seen folks talk about changing the oil either before or after storing it for the winter, but if I don't store it and drive it year round, can i just change it by mileage, or since it's not a daily driver, do I have to change it per some time interval before reaching 15K miles?

I have always thought that synthetic oil was very stable for a very long period of time.

opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I would change it once a year in low mile situations like yours.

Good Luck!

thanks folks,

but as I mentioned, I DON'T store my car in the winter. we drive it as long as there is no snow or visible salt on the roads.

I have seen the many posts regarding oil changes when hibernating....

thanks!

Porsche says 15,000 miles or if the car is driven less than 9000 miles per year, once per year.
