If your're wanting a high price your besy bet is Ebay. I have seen the bidding wars take a Black top up to the $1700 range. Even that was high.

Just as a FYI, I paid $1200 for my Black one and it came with the Porsche cover and ceiling storage system.

Note that Mike said $2000 obo - or best offer. Unless someone throws $2000 at him real soon, I imagine he would consider lower offers.

$2000 might be a little high, but if someone really needs a black top and Mike is close to them, you could make a case for $2000 being a reasonable price. I bought a top last summer, and I found several that I was interested in but could not arrange shipping. I eventually drove 600 miles round trip to retrieve my top. I also saw a top that was beaten up when it was shipped in a cardboard box. In addition, painting a top to match your car is probably going to cost between $400 and $600.

So a top in good condition, near where the buyer is located and the right color is a valuable item. Some people have more money than time and saving the time and energy need to pick up a top and/or have it painted might make sense.

how much would everyone pay for a top that is not in the right color, like for instance getting a yellow top for a blue car, or something like that?

I wouldn't pay more than $900 for a hardtop that is not the same color as my car. I got lucky and found a guy with my color for $900, although I am going to spend like $100 fixing scratches. $2000 seems to be what everyone want for them but on average I would say they go for $1200-1600, and as low as $600 if you're lucky, and I mean really lucky.
Good Luck Selling the Top though!

I think we all agree on the "optimistic" price, but the issue here is A. crossposting. and B. posting a for sale item out of the classifieds. mods should move/delete this thread.
