I guess you don't like the shape of the Cayman then either? Anyone can tell by looking at the Zeintop that it's a basic molded copy from that car, re-fitted and shaped slightly different to fit the Boxster's rear. Look at the lines and shape, there is nothing ugly about it, unless you don't like the look of the Cayman also.

Send a message via Yahoo to Chills
If it were $3k I'd buy one. $5k is too much.

I love the way it looks. Its a big improvement over the OEM hardtop, of which I am not a fan.

Yeah Grizzly, lot cheaper than springing for the Cayman, but with a 2.5l motor, I'd still have to do an engine swap. Decisions, decisions.

Hardtop, engine swap, twin turbos, nitrous, parachute and ejector seat would still be cheaper than a Cayman!

Still cheaper, but alas, no way to recover the costs invested. It's like throwing money down a drain when you try to sell that oh-so-zippy Boxster in Cayman clothing.

Agreed. You have to do what I do. Never sell them.

I do like the look of the Cayman especially when fitted with the Techart goodies but that Zeintop is just plain ugly when put on the boxster. It looks like it wasn't really made for the boxster even though it is. Just my $.02.

A lot of people are ordering them in the UK like this. I love it. White has been a no-no for so long over here and is now super popular again for "sports' cars.

I have been out in a cayman with a PSS9 and LSD update and it goes like hell.

Maybe we could put together a group buy with zeintop. I am sure they would like to get their name out, and what better way than with forums/porsche clubs? I would do one for 2500-3000 also.

I emailed them about the tops about 3 weeks ago and they take a 50% deposit, then ship the top from over-seas. I do not think US production is in full force yet (if ever), and our dollar goes nowhere over-seas.

I agree, that UK top is the perfect compromise hardtop between stock and the Zeintec.

I talked with Zeintec-USA and they would provide a discount on a group order. How much of a discount depends on how many are being ordered obviously. I personally don't think it would get down to the $2500-$3000 range. I will email brucelee to see how we can best organize this.

You might be able to get 4-6 people to commit to buy them, so the discount probably wouldn't be to big. Just start a poll thread to guage interest then call up Zeintech and ask what the discount would be for however many tops. Personally, I think the zeintop is making the Boxster what it isn't, perhaps "poser," is the word I am looking for.
