Where can I get the Boxster Grille Mesh Guards
shown on the utube video to protect the intakes front and rear. Also, what is the best online place to get Porsche Boxster accessories?

I used rain gutter mesh from home depot

I looked at this site adn pluged in my model and year and got this message
"There are no parts available for your 2007 BOXSTER . You can select a different vehicle or search for a different product. "
Do you know a place where hey are available?

I made mine from the same gutter guard and have enough left to do it again if I had to. Just took a little time to pull the bumper cover off, but that was only like an hour or so. Plus it is a good time to clean the garbage out that collects in front of the radiators.

I saw a box with that mesh stuff in the bumper once.. I almost threw up  It looked really really amateurish and cheesy. (not the job done, but the general look of this hokey mesh in an otherwise stylish bumper). Made the car look like some kid that should be driving around a 84 honda civic and ricing the crap out of it owned it..

i think that it would look really nice if it was behind the existing plastic grille, painted black. that way you get the function, and it doesn't look like rice

Since these cut the air flow by 30% (?), they also reduce the the amount of heat the radiators can remove. Might be a problem the next time it's 113 degrees outside and you are climbing mountains at 75 mph. (Just had to do this last week).

I agree 100% about the front of this car being way too classy looking to put silver gutter mesh in it. The 986/987 has a timeless no frills look to it, until people start trying to make it an el-paso lowrider pick up truck with shiny metal anywhere that it will fit.
If it was the right thing to do for performance, looks, or re-sale; Porsche's multi million dollar r/d dept would have already done it.
It seems like if you want the mesh to keep debris out, black would be the way to go if it does not adversly affect your performance.

Where do you get this statistic? I have only 2,000 miles on my new 987 an already there are rocks and debris inside my radiators. That is why I want teh screens.
Ans last week sIrove it to Palm Springs in 111 degree heat and the needle never budged off the center where it alrady is. This leads me to believe it has a great cooling system OR teh guage is raally an idot light in disquise and will only move when it has overheated. Does anyone know for sure?

The gauge works, the meshes reduce airflow and reduce cooling capacity. How much depends on the design of the mesh.
The Porsche shop manual tells us to use a vacuum with a long attachment (edge tool) to clean out the junk.

I have had mesh in my front openings of my 99 for at least 4 years, and when I switched over to a gt3 bumper i did the mesh again.
I agree that it should be black.
As far as cooling issues my car is a daily driver with over 145000 miles and i live in south Louisiana, it gets hot here and I have never had a problem.
