We are going to do the 4 stalk OBC retrofit on Alberto's 1997. It does not take any longer to do 2 cars at the same time. In fact, I once did 6 OBC retrofits at the same time. In the picture you see 4 cars in the driveway. There are another 2 cars in the garages.

I have a PST2 so I can turn on the OBC.

No need to take work on cars on the road. It took a year of filming but we came out with 3 DVDs of projects.

We filmed enough other projects for another 3 DVDs if a local someone wants to get involved in creating additional DVDs.

Damn you guys are awsome! I only need minor stuff, air filter/cabin filter/oil-oil filter change(the oil stuff I'll do at my place). Other than that I just want to watch if it's ok. See you guys then. When/where/how long?

Is this link not working?

http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14592

In the olden day it was hetic when a dozen Boxsters showed up. Then the 996s started to show up. We cannot work on that many cars in 3 hours.

When we started filming it was worse, because owners would show up with projects that had already been filmed months earlier. A 1 hour project takes at least 3 times as long when you film it. And we cannot work on the other cars while the tape is runing because of the noise.

So, we had to plan the projects in groups. I no longer do filter changes, short shifter installs, rear speaker installs, or stuff like that, unless there is no one else there to help with those projects. In the past experienced local owners were there to help the others, as the experience owners have done many of these projects before.

I do, or get people started, on the OBC retrofit and brake work as those are safety items.

This is why I request that people register their events on Renntech. If you just show up at 2 minutes and 59 minutes for a belt change then you may be out of luck. But there is always the next time.

There are no plans to film on July 28th so we should be able to get a lot of work done.

You must bring all the parts needed for your project. In the past people have shown up with incorrect parts - sold by a dealership of course. Then they had to run over to Stevens Creek Porsche to pick up the correct parts. But, the parts department is no longer open on Saturdays.

Picture of Aileen aka Madam No Fear installing a B&M in Chad's 996.
