Replacement top 02 boxster

I'm new to the site so I apologize if this is a worn out topic. I need to buy a replacement top for my 02 boxster. I have gone on line and I'm pretty confused w/ the many tops that are out there. OEM, Sonnenland, Stayfast, Sonnendeck.... price points all over the place? Can someone point me in the right direction. Of course we all want to save money. But I've been down that road before and paid for it in the end. A few wise words would be appreciated.

The basic choices for replacement tops are GAHH and Robbins. You can get a top with either the plastic rear window, or a glass rear window for your 02 Boxster.

I need to replace my top soon, and will be going with a Robbins top. Go to Ebay and search for Boxster Top, and you'll find some. Look for the seller 'topsonline'. He sells Robbins glass window tops, with the defroster wiring for right at $700.

If you don't want to install it yourself, check with auto upholstery shops in your area. Install will probably cost $400-1000 depending on the shop.

If you might want to tackle replacing the top yourself, here's a DIY: Top DIY

Any questions?

BTW, I'm in Austin, too.

Check with Jim's Top Shop on N Lamar. They are an authorized Robbin's shop. I haven't called them about an estimate, but since you know what you can get the top for, you should be able to tell how much the install will be.

If you do call 'em, let me know what they say.
