Anyone know
Well, getting my car back tomorrow and I was wondering what I can get for her now that shes got a new engine. Its an 01 box w/51,000mi. Brand new electrical system and brand new tires. On top of what I paid for it, it's cost me a small fortune after only 14 months of ownership. I hate to do it but I have to walk away from this one.
Hope you guys have better luck with your!
Mac

If i were you, i would keep it... Wouldnt you prefer to get your moneys worth with driving it, Top down, wind in your hair, a lady next to you in the passenger seat yapping at you cause the top down messes up her hair... Ah its a nice feeling.

I agree with CJ. You probly lose a bundle. I understand if you just cannot afford the car after the repairs. Best o' luck to you!

BWAHAHAHAHA!!! So I'm not the only one with that in the seat next to me.
I'd keep it. You have a new engine.

Bluebook private party value is around 20K for that car in So.Cal. You might get more from the right buyer if you are not in a hurry. Wholesale it at auction today for 14K?? Maybe??

I bet he wishes he had a warranty!
I'm glad I got one, even though I haven't had to use it yet!

so you get a car, breaks down, you pay to get everyting fixed out of the pocket, then say forget it, and sell it for what u paid for or less?
that doesnt make sense, now that you got all the bugs out, you can relax and drive it and not worry about anything

In our region, in good condition, it's worth $18,550 private party according to kelly blue book.
Retail would be higher, trade lower and wholesale even lower. Start at 21k and come down to $18,500. Chances are though, you've got nearly 25k in it or more and you need to keep the car another year or two to get some value out of your investment in the car purchase.

Keep the car. Since you just got a new engine put in, I assume you get a 2-yr. warranty on it from Porsche, right? Why spend all that money to get it replaced and then let the next owner enjoy it? If you feel that uncomfortable with it, sell it as it comes close to the end of the engine warranty. At least you get to enjoy the car for another 2 years or so.
Wondering though- you said that you had the electrical system changed on the car- was this a former flood car? If so, then I can see how you are arriving at all these problems.
