Ghl?

Is this a GHL exhaust or one of those that can be found in bulk on ebay?

I have a feeling it is a GHL clone. What's with all the wrap and clamps around the cans?

I was wondering about that too. Looks like it is thermal wrapped for heat shielding? Hope they aren't hidding any holes underneath it.

not an original GHL just a clone
the wrapping around the resonators is supposed to get rid of some of the exhaust drone for which the GHL is famous for

I don't think that's a GHL. It looks kinda funky to me. You young guys really like this ebay don't you. I've seen a few scams on ebay and heard a few horror stories so I'm leary of buying anything important or substantial on ebay.

since those cans can be seen from the bottom or rear of the car...how ugly would that look?

Actually, on the GHLs, the cans don't tend to hang below the view of the bumper line when installed, so you only see the tips. GHL's are one of the nicer looking sports exhausts out there IMO. It's too bad that they resonate so much at lower rpms, because their sound is actually really nice and race car like.

I've driven a couple of Boxsters (both on a base 986 and an S version), and they sound great with the GHL. It's just the drone that I couldn't live with.

I especially like how the GHL tips slant upwards like the Lamborghini Murcielago exhaust tips:

I just had another look at it and I actually think this *might* be a GHL.
(look at my signature, I know how a GHL looks like

My guess is that it came off a non-S Boxster and then someone made his own Boxster S mounting kit.

btw: the fact that the u-tubes which connect the exhaust with the cats are included is a HUGE benefit: when I installed my GHL a year ago it took me FOREVER (and many foul words) to get the original u-tubes into the GHL. Talk about a tight fit...

Haha, I bought my Boxster on ebay. Excluding the car I've probably spent over $5K on ebay and never been scammed. Although someone did steal my password and post a bunch of electronics in Europe with my account. Everything was resolved in the end though except I never got my original account back.
