Acid etched my windstop

A little thing I had done today was to have the windstop etched. I had one of those "PORSCHE" stickers on the windstop and my 3 yr old pulled off the "C"...So I took it to my local etcher and they made a template and acid etched "PORSCHE" in place of the sticker.
It looks much better than before. I thought some of you might want to know. I can take pictures if you want but I am sure you have the idea.

I was charged 35$, that included 5$ to make the template. If anyone is interested they can call them and they can do yours as well. They will not have to make a new template I don’t think.
It is called "etch of class" in Bastrop Texas 512-985-5237

Yes. I agree! You can also get frosted decals that will look like etched glass. But your 3 year old may still pull them off. I just pulled my 3 year olds fingers off to keep him from doing it again.

here is a picture, I am sure you get the idea. It is very OEM looking and an inexpensive addon.

Pretty nice, jhandy. Take a pic with the stop on your box.

I would love to get this done and also get the crest done as well.

Ok here it is on the car with fingerprints and all.
Yea the crest is next. I need to order the sticker first so that I get a template made.
The cool thing is also they can make it with a color inset if you want that.

That looks PIMP!

I wonder if we've got a guy that'll do that in Chi-land.

How much were you charged for that? It looks hella nice...

Plus I'm in Austin, if I decided to do that, I could take my business to your guy!

When you described the etching I thought sounds good but I wouldn't be interested in having it done. After seeing the etching I really like it and would definitely have it done. What kind of shop does this kind of work? I'm on Long Island, New York.

There are quite a few crest images around if they can make your template from one of them, do you know if they need a bitmap or a vector image? I have a few if you need one. The "Boxster" script could be cool too.

The lady who did my car charged 30$ for the work, and 5 $ for the making of template. The template is a one time thing so I would assume 30$ would be the charge for future engravings.

The store is a glass etching type of store, they do glass and trophies and awards.

I am sure every town has one. I would call my lady however, because
1. she is a nice lady
2. she already has the font and template, so you can just ask for the same as mine, and she will know what you are talking about.
3. Mine is already done, so there is no question about how it would look.

Give her a call.

I started Boxstering in 1999.

There are enough Porsche/Boxster/Crests and logos on the car as it is.

Never seen a reason after all these years to add more.

DON'T ORDER THE STICKER! I have it on a vector file format that any decal shop can use. If ANYONE is interested, just send me a P.M. and give me your personal e-mail address and I can send you the file for FREE! I also have the PORSCHE lettering if anyone needs it.

The dealership offers it as an additional option. Just if you want to add more style. Good for car shows.
