I can tell you from experience that this is NOT the way Lexus handles their CPO. Their logic is, that a part of the suspension should not wear out when the car has less than 100K on it.

Makes sense to me!

My car is CPO as well. I went in for the proverbial 1411 & 0410 codes. It turns out any of the parts associated with the air pump circulation system are not covered as well. Turns out that this is part of the "emissions system". I was not a happy camper.

Sigma: Did the gvmt. mandate that the emissons system be good for a longer period, and outside, general warrantees?

There is an extended mandated warranty on all emissions equipment. Mandated by the Feds.

Your dealer screwed you on this.

Go back at them.

IIRC, fed mandates emissions components have at least an 8yr/80K warranty. Some states like CA might even be longer.

Yeah, per other people's replies, emissions system components are mandated to be covered by the Fed, or by state government. You need to check on that.

Could be why the CPO warranty doesn't cover it... because it's already covered!
