Question Plastic wind screen question.

Alright guys,

I was driving down the road yesterday and I guess I got the car up to low to mid 80s. I look back in my mirror, and the driver side of my middle wind screen had popped out of the socket. If I had not reached back and put it back in, I would have lost it. So, my question is that has this happened to anyone else? What is at fault here? The socket attached to the roll bars, or the wind screen itself? It seems that the latch on the driver side always seems to 'shake' loose while I'm driving.

Anyone know a fix for this?

Thanks,

JBG

I know mine got loose once, but I clicked back in place and haven't had problems since. Are you talking about the black one with the holes or the all clear plastic one?

Clear plastic one. I bought it after the car, and I sure hate to lose it.

I had a similar experience. Later made sure it was fully pressed in/engaged and have not had an issue with it since, at speeds somewhat higher than yours... it can get to vibrating in the center quite a bit (visible in rear view mirror) but the clips stay engaged.

When I put it on I grab it and pull it back and forth hard enough to really flex it. Been 5 years and no issues. It is not going to come out if it is put in properly and none of the clips are broken.

You should also check the clips on the windstop and the roll bar. On the windstop the clips have a plastic spring that likes to break. The clips on the roll bar can lose a chunk of plastic.
