Keeping up with the Jones' or "Car Wars"
My wife and I bought our 2001 Boxster six months ago. Well, I guess it just ate away at my sister-in-law and her husband...we had a better car than they did. Actually, I should preface this by saying that in 2005 we bought a new Chevy Avalanche. A year later they bought a new Chevy Avalanche. Anyway, long story short, they came by last night with a beautiful 2004 Vette ragtop...blk/blk/blk.
I couldn't help but chuckle and think about the "Star Wars" that Ronny Reagan used to bankrupt Gorby and the Soviet Union!
What should we buy next to show them up?...any ideas would be welcomed. ; )

Silverboxter, do you really want to get your sister-in-law and husband going? Continue to have the greatest friendship & marriage with your wife!
Do you have kids? Send 'em to Prep School. That'll bankrupt the SIL.

I'd say a 07 boxster S with that sweet 3.4L....or a 996/997 Gt3 if you really want to party and beat embarras them from stop light to light. Haning with the Jones' can get expensive quick!

Yes that is JT's house complete with his own runway and 707. I am working on making mine look the same.

Imagine if the rappers started copying Travolta? "Ya bro, here is ma jet!". There would be no buildings standing in Los Angeles in a few months.

Why show them up? Just continue with your lives as usual and let them just sulk in theirs. From my experience it is those competitive materialistic type that are always miserable because no matter what you get or how good you have it someone always tops you. That's the problem with those people, they cant see how good they have it because they are always looking around and seeing how much better others have it.
