Fog lights?

I am about to export my Boxster to Europe (Netherlands to be specific) with me as part of a job move. There is a need to install a "fog light" on the car to meet Dutch specification. From what I can gather, this is a switch inside the car that can activate the white rhs "reverse light" during fog.

I am wondering whether it would be cheaper to get this done in the US rather than in the Netherlands.

Has anyone had to do this in the past? Any help is appreicated.

All boxsters have this Rear Foglight BUT it is not white, the Rear Foglight is behind the red lense.... Just pull the headlight switch towards you, 2 clicks. First click will trigger the front foglights, the 2nd click will trigger the rear foglight.

Yes, rear fog lights are red. They shine brighter than the parking light and are either on both tail lights or just on the drivers side. Just turn on headlights and pull knob out towards you for 2 clicks.

Newer Boxsters, it's only on the driver's side as I recall.

You are probably right. It is only on the driver side on my 987.

if you need them to be clear, you can probably rewire them to come on as part of the reverse lights

Thanks...!

They say you learn a new thing every day... I may as well go home now then as I have learned something new!! Many thanks for this.

My friend had a Jeep Grand Cherokee that he took across, and it cost him around $400 to get the changes made!!

Check with local state regs before doing that, I recall at least in WA that such a mod is illegal.

well if you dont need the clear ones then you are goo, couse our cars ceom with front and back fog lights, well 2 front and one back, so that people dont confuse the 2 with brake lights.
