Wow! That is one nice Midget! Did you do the restoration yourself?

My friends are a father and son team. They did tons of T-cars from the mid 70's - early 90's. They always drove Midgets MGB-GT's, etc. They are serious British car restorers and master mechanics. With all of that knowledge and know-how it is hard to get them to work on (or drive) those old cars now. Their business went from the restorations to 95% collision work nowadays.

Thanks for posting the pic!

Thanks for the compliment!

Yes, I did that entirely myself. In fact, I even did that paint job. The car had been finished for several years. One day, I had it parked in the driveway at my last house. A contractor was on the roof over the garage trying to locate a leak. He slipped, fell off and landed on the hood/cowl/windshield of the Midget.

I have a friend who's an outstanding painter and he convinced me that he could teach me body work and paint, so I could fix the damage to the Midget myself. I took a few weeks of vacation (five), and under his close supervision, stripped, straightened, blocked, painted, wet sanded and buffed the entire car, to include engine compartment, jambs, and wheel wells! I now have the ultimate respect for body men. It's hard work. The Midget was the perfect car to learn on because it's so small.

I said I'd never paint another car, but I'm going to paint my current 912 project myself, at home. I never learn.

Tardemark?

You have got to be kidding me...Trademarks are only if you are going to SELL it and make money from it... You can use the color all you want... It just means that other car companies cant use that color..
You probably cant buy that color from them directly, but you can make it yourself or have it mixed for you.

Porsche has a trademark on there name and crest...if I were to paint a picture of the crest and name, they cant do anything about it because its artistic expression...and I am not making any money from using their symbols.

thanks for the great work man! unfortunately im am trying to finish college before getting my first Pcar, so im still in the dreaming phase. you guys only make the desire stronger and harder to resist!

My Box will however be some color like the burnt orange with the black rims and body color lip. I agree that the Lambo color is too LOUD, but it was the first pic i could find of the wheel and paint setup i want.

Yes, everything you said is true. But for Interstate Batteries, the company I work for, we have a #18 NASCAR that is a specific color green. Since the owner of our company did not want any other car on the track with this particular color. He paid big bucks to have a specific Dupont Paint Color made and numbered so that no one else can use it. It's the fact the the color is then named and given a paint code/number that makes it trade maked. Its really crazy when you think about it and a waste of money because like you said, anyone can create their own mixture to get the same exact color. They just can't use our created green because it is registered as our official green and has a specific paint name/code with Dupont. In other words, Dupont will never sell it to the public. But you can sure come very close to coping it. ;)
