97-98.5 have a thinner more fragile rear subframe than the 98.5-2004. I'm guessing you have an early 98. Good time to upgrade to the more robust 98.5-04 rear subframes.

Garage
I received the PM. I try to avoid the hassle of international shipping, but I sent a bumper cover to Newart many years ago and some body parts to Australia. I might work out the process and cost in time to ship on Monday. I'll PM shipping estimate and price after I get it figured.

As Woody said, It's probably best to get the upgraded pair I have handy off of a 2000 S. Just the side brackets pictured, not the plate and cross brace:

Thanks all for the quick response. Reliable as always on this forum. Good tips on an upgrade. And yep, mine is a 98.

I need to repair ASAP and found my subframe piece locally. So i'm going to go with that option and see if thats all I need to get it back on the road. You never know, I messed it up pretty bad and I might need the whole rear undercarriage!

Check it out.

Update, seeking driveshaft for RH side. Subframe replace seemed to straighten everything back up, but then the clickity-clackity on the outside so it's back up on the stands till I replace.
