Air Bag Deactivation Bar

I have an airbag deactivation bar for sale. According to the sticker placed on the buckle it will only work with 911's and Boxster's from 1997. I have a 1999 model year and unfortunately for me the bar will not fit my frame rail.

Part #: 993-803-583-00
Asking $100 plus shipping

I’ve got one of these in my 2003. These really should fit from 1997-2004 at minimum.

The diameter of the holes on the bar of this version are too small for the bolts that attach the frame rails to the car. I noticed there is another deactivation bar with a different part number (996-803-083-02) that is slightly different than this one. Do you happen to know the part number on your bar?

Next time I have the car out of the garage, I’ll get under the seat and compare part numbers for you.

since the seats are the same for 97-04 there is no reason this wouldn't fit. In fact it's the same bolt pattern 97 to at least 2010 since 987 seats fit in a 986 perfectly. When they say from, it means starting that year and up. So from 97 would mean 97 to 04 on a 986.

That is what I had assumed as well when I purchased it originally. Unfortunately the bar definitely will not bolt up to the frame since the holes for the bolts to pass through the bar are too small. To your point though the buckle itself and the wire that plugs in underneath the seat should work fine so I might be able to fashion a way to attach the buckle w/o the bar so it is secure.
