WTB Spare Wheels (Pretty or Not)

As the title says: I'm looking for a full set of wheels for track days. They can be ugly... I don't care.
- OR -
if you have a nice set of wheels, I'd consider them if the price is reasonable, and rotate the ones I have to track duty.

I'm at 84120, and can supply a commercial shipping address, if helpful.

Please let me know what ya got? I'm relatively anxious, as I have an HPDE I'd like to hit mid-June.

Have a set of wheels I am selling. Have rubber on them.

Will do 125$ each + shipping for wheels with rubber. Please feel free to email me at porsche986parts@gmail.com

Thank you,
David

Are you looking for 17"s or 18"s? I've got a set of Italian replica 18" Cayman S wheels, painted black and one has some silver accents where I was experimenting with a Fuchs look, they are taking up space and I would sell them for cheap, $400 plus shipping and I could include the thin tape and stuff to make them all look like Fuchs, or I could return that one wheel to black.

Front 8x18 ET 57
Back 9x18 ET 43

Hmmmm.... pictures?
I'm told that it's easier to find sticky shoes in a 17, than 18. Anyone confirm or deny? But let's see those pics.... maybe they're my new street wheels? Haha

There are plenty of good sticky tires in 18 and more and wider sizes than are available in 17s. However they do typically cost a little more for some reason, even though in my opinion, there is less rubber in them due to the shorter sidewall.

For example, in 17s you might run:
225/45/17 on the front 17x7 wheel
255/40/17 on the rear 17x8.5 wheel

Stock 18 sizes on these wheels would be:
225/40/18 on the front 18x8 wheel - the 8" wide wheel could support this width better than the 17x7
265/35/18 on the rear 18x9 whee - 10mm more width and the wheel is a half inch wider, about the same support as the 255 on the 17x8.5

But with the 18s you have more choices, could run 235/275 front/back - those sizes may be available in 17 but squeezing that 275 on the back 17x8.5 would be a tight fit

Let me get some pictures. Here is the one I painted to match the Fuchs style:

The others are just like this except they are all black on the faces. The inner barrels are still gray.

Edit 2 - I would definitely consider the paint job on these wheels to be amateur level, looks good at 5 feet but not concourse level...

I don't mean to post and disappear, haha. Thanks for all of the replies. I haven't purchased yet, but I'm being torn between a set of the Carrera 17's (FRONT RIM SIZE: 7x17 ET OFFSET 50-PART#: 99636212402, REAR RIM SIZE: 9x17 ET OFFSET 55 PART#: 99636212802) versus a set of 2000 Boxster BBS, 18" 2-pc wheels (Also staggered).

Any pros or cons to either? (Other than the 18's seem to cost more to put shoes on 'em?)

MY of your Boxster may help you decide...

If 18" are ok for you MY, consider total weight combined, wheel plus tire (many OEM wheels are heavy).

Good luck

For that 17" wheel set, it is from a 996 generation 911, the front is exactly the same as 986 Boxster but the back is a little different, it is .5" wider and the inner barrel is closer to the strut than the 17x8.5 ET 50 Boxster wheel, people do run this setup on the 986 Boxster, you may need a small, like 3mm, spacer in the back.

Those 2000 Boxster 18" BBS wheels, if it is the ones I'm thinking of, look rally good, got a picture and the wheel sizes and offsets?
