WTB: Heater Control

Dealer was suppose to fix this but he reneged.
So now I have to try and get it repaired/replaced.

Pelican has a replacement face.
Has anyone ever tried this.

Cheers!

Had the same issue with mine - bought the module master Boxstersteve has highlighted and worked like a charm. It's an extremely quick and easy fix.

Does the new one screen look the same as the original?
The icons look different on the replacement one?

The script is slightly different on the Module Master kit. Can't speak to the Pelican kit though.

I've got the entire replacement module. Out of a 98 boxster. $100 sounds about right, I haven't priced it on Pelican.

I don't remember exactly, but not all modules can be swapped (even though they appear identical). One of the pins was changed in the later 986s. Double check your PNs.

I've seen compatibility issues, even when part #'s match. I'd recommend the OP fix his rather than trying a swap. The cars VIN is stored in the climate control unit, but I'm not sure what this affects as I've seen plenty of successful swaps (though more unsuccessful).

The dealer says I will need a unit from a 2003 or 2004 only.
That's a shame.
Thanks anyway.
Cheers! Bart

I'm 90% sure a 2002 will work too. I forget if 2001 will though. I think I've seen both styles in a 2001. The whole unit is black on the early style and there will be four wire connections plugged into the back. The later style has the black face plate but the rest of it is a light tan color. It also has four spots on the back of it for wire connection, but only two are used.

Well I can't believe I did it. (I'm not good with electronics)
It was one of the easiest things I have ever done.
It took approx. 30 min.

I t has the same script as the original.
I got it from 914 Rubber.com
996/986 LCD Display unit wth connectors (replacement kit)

Here is what it looks like.
