Your looking at my dads 1999 Porsche Boxster Convertible. This car will run but driveable. Has Suspecting IMS Failure. Car was running fine and then started to run rough. Dad pulled over and towed car to shop, which is a well known Porsche repair shop. They then said car runs but very rough due to IMS failure and cam timing is off. Car has always been well maintained and just recently paid over $500+ to get the air/oil separator replaced. Car also has recently been keyed. Scratches are all around the car. Everything else works on the car. Radio, A/C , Power windows, Power top, cruise control , Spare Tire etc. Even the tires have more then half life left on them for sure. These boxsters are known to be great race/track cars and this would be perfect for that or for parts since we all know how pricey some stuff can be on these lovely Porsche. Even be great if someone can fix it and enjoy the car. So once again car will start according to mechanic but runs real rough and needs repair. Cannot be driven home if purchased. Also I cannot start the car until paid for car because any more time on the engine running way it is could cause internal damage that would cost several $ more. Feel free to ask local mechanic about the IMS Failure and the bearing that im talking about that could go out and cause internal damage. This was a great car, dad used to commute back and to work as well the cruise down the coast. He was always on the services so the car never did him wrong.
