No it is not. You really need to run it way more than 100 miles. As the carbon builds, the sound becomes better. Also, using better clamps helps to decrease any drone. I have the cat bypass pipes which is a must IMO. I do not have any significant drone with mine. I have now had it on my car for a year and 5 months and am still very happy with it
