Parting Out 99 and 01 986 LOS ANGELES
I run a Porsche repair shop in Los Angeles. We've acquired two Boxsters from people who lived above their means and got over their heads in repairs.
The 99 had a head gasket failure and the 01 tiptronic took a dump. The 99 is a 5sp and blue. The 01 had a tip and is black.
We though about repairing them, however for the time and effort required, we have decided to go another route.
We are parting them out and have just about any part you could ever need from a 99 or an 01. It is also very theraputic for us to tear down the cars for parts (we fix a lot of Porsches)
Let me know what you are looking for and I probably have it.
Some big items I'd love to sell at a great deal are:
a complete manual transmission (~70K) inc. clutch with (< 2K) (1999 car)
completely rebuilt cylinder heads for a 2.5L (from the 1999)
Good case from the 99. The 99 engine will run great, but you have to assemble it.
Complete 2.7L engine from the 2001 (running great until trans failed)
We have: fenders, hoods, bumpers, control units, complete subframes, steering racks, radiators, condensors, air ducts, a/c lines, evap parts, fuel tanks, convertible top transmissions, push rods, frames, motors, springs, struts, mufflers, seats, sunvisors, door panels, headlights, tailights, expansion tanks, alternators, secondary air pumps, two whole complete cars that were taken decent care of. Both cars have less than 90k on them.
We're in Los Angeles. We really don't want to ship anything if possible. However if you really really need it, we can work something out. We prefer if you stop by to get parts during business hours of M-F 8- 5:30. We'll come in Saturdays if you want a lot of parts.
