FS: 986 Convertible Top Parts
I recently upgraded the top on my '99 Boxster from plastic window to glass window and have several parts available:
1. Original top with plastic window, which is in very good condition aside from the rip in the window. The color is black. $80.
2. Original top transmissions (left and right). $100 each.
3. Original top relay. $50.
4. Convertible top motor (new style). $100.
Will sell all the convertible top parts above as a lot for $300. Shipping extra.
Also available:
5. Rear storage compartment in black (one door is not operating, but repairable). $50.
6. Speedster Humps on black (genuine Porsche). Have a few chips and scratches. $250.

I just replied to your PM. The humps are sold, the storage compartment is under discussion, but the convertible top, transmissions and motor are still available.

Do you have the two small arms with the ball joint end that tend to snap? Red or White??

No, I don't have the red/white ball-end caps, as they were reused when I replaced the top.

I'd really like to get these convertible top components out of my garage. Need room for the snowblower! Does anyone have any top restoration projects for over the winter?

The rear storage compartment and the humps are gone. However, the rest of the convertible top parts are still available.

UPDATE:
The top has been sold. Thanks Bala...
Previously the rear storage compartment and the speedster humps were sold. So what I have remaining available are:
1. Original '99 top transmissions (left and right). $100 each.
2. Original '99 top relay. $50.
3. Convertible top motor (new style: '03). $100.
Happy to ship them out...

Thanks Jim. worked out well. I was hoping to svavenge the B pillar plastic thingy for the left side but that was broken. I used your assembly to check the reinstall steps. Helped a lot.
if anyone wants parts from the convertible frame let me know. Pay the shipping and you can have it.

Does either of you have the funky ball joint bolt that attaches the sliding part of the guide rail to the guide arm? (I admit, just as the manual says, my local Porsche authorized dealer is happy to sell me the part, but for almost $50) I need passenger side if they are different. If either of you does have a spare, let me know what you want for it and what shipping would be to 32311.

Not sure which part you are talking about. Can you post a pic of the assembly and an arrow pointing to it. I have the whole frame from Jim. If It's there you can have it.

I probably wouldn't technically call it part of the roof frame, but the part I need connects the long guide arm to the sliding guide rail thing on the frame of the car. Wasn't able to post pics from my mobile but uploaded them so ill post links when I get on a real PC. If someone just replaced a roof, this part would probably have been re-used but thought I'd ask anyway.

Here's the part (should be one piece - mine is broken in two which is why I need one), and below is where it goes, almost dead center of the pic, there is a blue painted guide arm with a more bare metal circle on it. That's where the nut screws down on the part I need.

Is this what you are looking for? The ball type thingy in the middle of the picture? It has a nut on the other side holding it in.
If it is PM me your address and I'll drop it in the mail for you tomorrow.

Top motor, relay and transmissions still available
The '97-'99 convertible top motor, relay, and transmissions are still available. I'd be happy to sell all these parts as a lot for $250.
