Painting a soft top?

About 2 years ago, the plexiglass on my soft top broke. I ended up finding a frame+top from a 2003 shortly after, but the color is blue while my car is black.

I've been living with it as I usually drive the car with the top down anyway. I've been toying with the idea of painting the the blue into black.

I researched and saw that the top is made of canvas. Do you think the Duplicolor Vinyl & Fabric work spray paint will work fine? How many cans do you think I'll need to cover the entire top?

I do still have my old top sitting in the garage, I was thinking of testing it out on that prior.

I think that will work. Please do it and report back for the rest of us. Two spray cans will probably cover the area, so I'd buy three.
