de Cadenet was/is an expert on Euro sports cars. Once it became obvious that the B-J was turning into all-muscle-cars-all-the- time it became equally obvious that they needed commentators that were more knowledgable in that type of car.
Speed also dropped Keith Martin but apparently that was because he let it be known that he felt the prices being achieved by fake Hemi 'Cudas and the like were seriously inflated and bound to take a tumble eventually, so the B-J bunch told Speed to dump him.

I've long been a deCadenet detractor because of his snobbish attitude of superiority. Yes, he is an absolute wealth of information regarding European sports cars, but his utter distaste for everything other than European sports cars is unbearable.
I must say, though, personally answering Kabel's question for Rail about his watch was really decent of him. He has fractionally redeemed himself in my eyes (which I'm sure will help him sleep better
).
