Yep, you're right, don't finesse it. I got it figured out, but it took more force then I ever would have thought I would use on the car.
Didn't cut my wrist, but when the snorkel came off (way easier than I thought), I ended up falling backwards and smashing the passenger peg of my motorcycle into my back. Ouch! Glad I was sorta squatted down there or I really would have gone flying.
