Auto insurance rates for Porsches ( and other non fart can sports cars) are not as high as most people would think, at least for people with good driving records. The bodily injury and property damage liability experience ( damage to other people and property) for Porsches is better than average while collision and comprenhensive is slightly worse.

People who own these cars usually take very good care of them and seem to have fewer accidents than average. On the other hand these cars are a target for theft and vandalism and are very expensive to repair. You can say pretty much the same for Corvettes and other high end sport type autos.

Since the largest part of your premium dollar usually goes for liability coverages, porsche owners usually are desireable customers for auto insurers who know what they are doing. It generally pays to shop arround, especially in New Jersey where rates have been droping in recent years.

Just my $ .02.

Oh, for you guys who put your cars on the track, read your policy. Pre arranged speed event are usually excluded.
