Thanks for the response; yes, I am doing a ton of research as this is a big investment for me (as most others, I'm sure).

I have read RandalNeighbor's piece and have it printed off when I go to look at a car... great stuff and very helpful.

The Renntech link was interesting, but I cannot open the pdf file, as I am not a member. Looks like the one thing I gleaned is that I should ask for a pressure test on the coolant expansion tank.

So, I'm back to square one... anyone have a list of what to specifically check for? The main reason I ask is that I'm planning on going to an Indy shop and want to make sure they check everything important.

Also still wondering about the alignment question... is this the only way to tell if the car was been wrecked?
