Not at all. A Boost Gauge is useful, but not when it's mounted on the floor. On the floor, it could even be said to be unsafe because it is a dynamic gauge, you have to be looking at it when the boost is being produced for it to have any value. This takes the Driver's eyes off the Road at a time when the car is under boost and therefore supposedly going fast.

The Boost Gauge on my Lotus Esprit is right dead-center on the Instrument Binnacle (see below) as is the OEM Porsche Boost gauge. At this location is it useful and safe. A gauge mounted on the floor is superfluous, there for the Bling. Bling, IMHO, can equate to ricer...
