Yes the oil can be changed by youself or you can have the dealer do it for around150- 200 bucks. Many boxster owners do it themselves because it is an easy task to do. There is alot of info on this forum about that topic. Click on search and type in "change engine oil" or something to that tune and there should be a good deal of info that pops up.
