Take it easy the first few kilometers during the break-in period.

So don't do trackdays yet with sustained rpm levels above 6500 lap over lap over lap but an occasion rev up the scale won't harm it. Personally I know no-one who didn't rev a sporty car in the break-in period. Had a friend with an e46 m3. 500km holding back and then he couldn't handle it any more and touched the rev limiter in second gear.

And when its fully driven in, rev the hell out of it ! During the warm-up period (15 minutes or so) I keep it below 3000 rpm. When its fully warmed up stay above 5000rpm. They are ment for this :-)
