Was this tree saved anywhere, like did ya replant it in your yard? What sort of tree was it? I've seen mold grow in carpets before, but I guess with enough dirt and crap falling into the frunk area, it was enough water and dirt for growth. Did you name the tree like 'growing in Boxdirt' or something?

Yeah, it was some kind of wax myrtle.
I wanted to plant it, but my wife said "no thats just a weed". I think she's right, she runs a nursery after all.
That car was hella dirty. all kinds of dirt and stuff in it. I did get to save some of the interior for my other boxster, but the carpet was junk.
