As I mentioned in previous remarks I had these interior items clear coated after sandblasting all the soft touch stuff off. The guy who did the sand blasting told me that skin oil from touching would eventually make the black surface look very spotted. That was three or four years ago and all the parts still look perfect. I really don't know if he was right but for $100 it was worth the cost to me
