Wendy's isn't alone in recycling food. If you eat a buffet 'all you can eat' type spot within a restaurant, chances are you are eating allot of food that is at least a week old. Its a dumping ground for left overs. And if you order chicken or beef trya and stick with whole pieces and avoid menu items where things are diced, shredded or ground. That's the last stop for old stuff.

one more, if you are in the habit of eating early for lunch or dinner (first seating) you are usually eating the oldest food. "First in, last out" is the cardinal rule. The last ingredient received (yesterdays) are the first served on the next day. A good reason to have dinner nearest to closing time.
And this applies at all level or eateries. I've worked them all before finishing college, from Wendy's to white glove French.
