Took a lot longer than expected because my hoses were completely fused to the WP and thermostat. Installed Pierburg water pump and standard 180° thermostat. Lost almost exactly 1.5 gallons of coolant and did not need to vacuum fill. Didn't do a flush, either. A couple of heat cycles got all the air out.

Most of the impeller was in the water pump well, but the rest had to be flushed out. This was accomplished by simply shooting a jet of water into the wp inlet with a garden hose and spray jet nozzle. Maybe not the right way, but it worked in seconds and did not cause any issues. I reassembled the impeller with hot glue to make sure that I had all the pieces.

Oh **************** that is not fun, I got lucky when mine went and caught it just before that happened. Ended up going with a metal impeller. Gotta be careful and change it before this one goes and eats into the engine 😅
